WRATT III Introduction to Powder Coating Systems: Chapter 03: Powder is Less Expensive than Liquid Spray
Chapter Abstract: This is clip 3 of 26 for this video. Dave Moore discusses the reasons powder system have a lower supply cost than liquid spray systems. Powder systems are built with a reclaimer that automatically cycles waste powder into the feed hopper. Powder systems use less energy because the air emitting from the system does not have to be vented like a liquid system does. Spray rooms for powder systems can be sealed off to prevent dirt for entering the system and therefore reduces the number of product rejects. Powder coatings eliminate rejects due to runs, drips and sags. Powder coatings due not contain heavy metals and therefore are not classified as hazardous waste. This greatly reduces disposal costs.
