WRATT IV Promote Landfill Alternatives Now: Solutions for Industrial Solid Waste: Chapter 02: Maury County Landfill
Chapter Abstract: This is clip 2 of 26 for this video. The Maury County Landfill is working in partnership with local industries to reduce the amount of waste brought to the landfill. The original permit for the landfill was 65 acres, if they were to go back and permit what was actually needed, they would need 250 acres. The bailing machine has increased the landfill capacity by about 50%. Public use of recycling has also greatly increased the life of this landfill. All of the recycled material is either sold or taken by another business.
