Chapter Abstract: This is clip 15 of 26 for this video. The original purpose of the waste reduction program at Sharp Manufacturing Company of America was to promote themselves as an environmentally friendly company. They soon discovered the tremendous cost savings of such a program. Their waste disposal charges dropped from $200,000 to $60,000 per year. This drop occurred despite an increase in production and the cost of disposal.
