WRATT IV Promote Landfill Alternatives Now: Solutions for Industrial Solid Waste: Chapter 25: Case Study - City of Kingsport Recycling Program
Chapter Abstract: This is clip 25 of 26 for this video. The City of Kingsport put about 2 years of research into their recycling program. Because the processing center was established, it allowed the city access to such a facility. Waste Management, Inc. has the connections to market the recycled material worldwide which has been a tremendous benefit to the city. All of the residents were provided with collection containers for recyclables. The material is then sorted at a processing center. They have also started educational programs for the community. This has contributed greatly to the success of the program.
