WRATT II Solvents - The Good, the Bad & the Banned Chapter 04: Case Study - A.B.B. Power T&D Co.
Chapter Abstract: This is clip 4 of 6 for this video. A.B.B. Power T&D Co. manufactures distribution arrestors. It is imperative that these parts have a tarnish free finish ass they are being used for electrical contacts. They use to clean the parts using a Freon vapor degreaser. This process worked well, but four reasons compelled them to change; environmental concerns, employee safety, cost savings and requirements to phase out CFCs. They changed to a turbo washer and a cob meal drying system. The new system has met all of the plant's concerns. They have also purchased a corrugated bailer to reduce the volume of corrugated waste going to the landfill.
