Pollution Prevention for Metal Platers - Dragout Reduction: Chapter 05: Proper Use of Available Dragout Reduction Equipment

Chapter Abstract: This is clip 5 of 7 for this video. The fourth way to reduce Dragout involves the proper use of equipment available at the facility. Types of equipment that can be used to control and reduce Dragout include hang bars and drain boards, spray rinses, drip guards, and Dragout tanks. Hang bars and drain boards allow parts to drain until no more dripping occurs. Spray rinsing can help reduce cross contamination of baths. Drip guards are angled to direct Dragout back into the process tank. The use of a Dragout tank can allow the reclamation of some chemicals.
