Groundwater Festivals : Launching Water Stewardship
Chapter Abstract: This is clip 1 of 1 for this video. The mission of the Groundwater Foundation is to educate people about the nature an value of groundwater. Groundwater festivals bring groundwater education to community youth. The 2003 Nebraska groundwater festival theme "Groundwater Galaxy: a World of Rising Stars," featured space related water activities and a visit by astronaut Scott Carpenter. Festival organizers realize the importance of educating water conservation at an early age. Representatives from other states attended the festival to bring the format back to their communities.
