WRATT III Case Studies - Great Dane Chapter 05: Waste Reduction Assessment & Implementation
Chapter Abstract: This is clip 5 of 14 for this video. The University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services conducted a waste reduction assessment and suggested the recycling and reuse of waste paint related materials. It was determined that the waste could be used in the production of a superior undercoat. As a result of this determination, Great Dane purchased a 60 gallon distillation unit. Nearly 100% of the waste paint that used to be shipped off site is not recycled or reused. The expected saving for 1991 is over $135,000 due to these changes.
