About Us

P2RIC Strategy

The Pollution Prevention Regional Information Center (P2RIC) improves resource sharing among the programs, businesses, and agencies within EPA Region 7 (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska) that provide waste reduction services and expertise to business and industry.

P2Rx is one of eight EPA funded regional information centers called the Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange (P2Rx) that increase P2 effectiveness and awareness by providing P2 programs with timely, accurate and useful information and resources.
This effort serves the regional and national interests by promoting prevention as the preferred strategy for meeting the sustainability challenge of retaining our current quality of life in a healthy Earth system.

Organizational Structure

The Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) operates the Pollution Prevention Regional Information Center. P2RIC works with partner programs to collect, share, and update pollution prevention information. P2RIC collaborates with the other eight regional information centers of the National Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange (P2Rx). P2RIC also works with the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable (NPPR) Information Technology Workgroup and with the Region 7 Pollution Prevention Roundtable Communications Workgroup.

Primary Clients

P2RIC serves environmental service providers and P2 specialists in EPA Region 7. These clients include state and local technical assistance providers who promote pollution prevention, energy efficiency, and manufacturing improvements. P2RIC also serves consultants, trade associations, public interest groups and other non-governmental organizations. P2RIC seeks a broad multi-disciplinary client base broader than that of the existing Region 7 Pollution Prevention Regional Information Center Roundtable.

P2RIC Advisory Board

P2RIC has an Advisory board to provide continuity and guidance for P2RIC products and services collected, created, and shared. The Advisory Board is comprised of professionals actively engaged in P2 within their geographic area of influence as well as national efforts. Serving on the P2RIC advisory board gives members a chance for networking with other influential P2 professionals in the region and the opportunity to be sure needed information, training, and marketing is available to help businesses in the region reduce their environmental impact.
